Editors comment:
Pacific was one of the big growers during 2004. Many think the games there are the softest on the net. The games are really soft but not as good as they were during 2004. Rumor about where there are good games spreads quickly I guess. The software is quite crappy and it’s only possible to play one table at a time, the games have to be really good to compensate that downside. Pacific Poker is recommended because of the great nature of the games.
Full review:
(This casino has decided not to allow US players at the moment) Pacific Poker is run by one of the largest online casinos, Casino-on-Net, and that is the main reason why the games have been so good. There are many casino players that like to gamble on Pacific Poker. The software is Pacific’s weakness, it is only possible to play at one table at a time which is sub-standard. It doesn’t matter much for the beginners who may have many things to think about but for the more experienced players who quickly get bored by playing on one table it’s bad news. The graphics are not anything special either.
Player volume is very good, on peak hours 2000-2500 real money players and 4000 tournament players play simultaneously, which is among top 6 sites. Most cash game traffic is concentrated towards the fixed limit Texas Hold’em games. There are also Omaha and Seven-Card Stud games being spread.
The rake is standard for the industry with a 5% max $3 on full ring games (6-10 players).
Bonuses and promotions are decent, the most common type is deposit bonuses. Pacific Poker is a big site and backed by a huge casino so there are no financial problems. Players have several options when depositing or withdrawing funds.
