Virtually The Best Sci-Fi Casino In The World…?
Virtual City isn’t your run of the mill casino. I always imagine casino bosses sitting around dreaming up a fresh theme for their new site - with Virtual City, the futuristic, sci-fi theme is certainly original, if nothing else, though I’m not quite sure how they ended up with this.
This is clearly aimed at fans of science fiction and all things futuristic, with a robotic figure welcoming you to the home page. Ironically, the graphics could probably do with a little modernising, but it’s probably best if you treat these things with a pinch of salt.
Underneath the wrapping, this is a casino that packs a punch, with over 500 different games from the world’s leading developer, Microgaming. Choose from your favourite slots, table games, video poker and more, and switch effortlessly between real and free play modes on any device from the same account. There’s no way you’ll get bored - I’ve tried, but there are just too many games to choose from, you would have to play solidly for months to exhaust the game selection.
Virtual City is part of the Casino Rewards Group, a consortium of casino sites that follow a similar template, even if they each have their unique quirks and service elements. One thing I particularly love about these casinos is that they do the basics so well. I’m talking about customer support, banking, and just generally treating their customers with respect.
Fully licensed and regulated, Virtual City is a legitimate operator, with the financial strength of the wider group to inspire extra confidence - it’s even certified by industry body eCOGRA as a safe place to play. It’s only a shame for players in the US and much of continental Europe that they can’t choose to open an account here - these are restricted countries under the terms of their license.
Otherwise, it’s a great place to play, and there are plenty of reasons you might want to check out Virtual City a bit further.
I’ve played here sporadically on and off over several years, reaching right back to when Virtual Casino first came online in 2002. If I was playing at fewer casinos, I’m sure I would spend even more time here, purely for the user experience they deliver. You don’t feel like the casino is an enemy when you’re playing here, which is more than can be said for a lot of others I’d experienced.
Virtual City have a strong and responsive customer support department. I’ve found them to be highly professional, and I’ve spoken to a number of other players who have had a similar experience. They are actually bordering on the friendly, which comes as a pleasant surprise if you’ve ever had a bad experience with support in the past. You can reach them on live chat if you’re looking for a quick response, or you can pick up on email or by phone if you prefer.
One area where I’ve seen some grumbles from players is the payout time - set at 2 working days for handling withdrawals. In my experience, this is something you’ve got to live with when you play at online casinos. It makes sense - they obviously need to make sure they are paying money legitimately, and this is part of the diligence process. Just make sure you’re aware of it, so you don’t end up finding yourself waiting for a couple of extra days at cash-out.
In terms of payment methods, you can deposit and withdraw through Bank Transfers, eCheck, ecoPayz, EntroPay, InstaDebit, Kalibra Card, Maestro, MasterCard, NETELLER, PayPal, Postepay, Visa, and Visa Electron. For deposits only, you can also choose Citadel Instant Banking, eps, Euteller, GiroPay, iDeal, iDebit, MB Multibanco, Neosurf, paysafecard, Poli, Przelewy24, Qiwi Wallet, Sofortuberweisung, Trustly, and Zimpler, while larger withdrawals can also be handled through Bank Wire Transfer or Check, either by courier or by mail.
Game Types & Selection
When you sign up for an account here, you instantly gain access to over 500 different games. That’s good enough, but when you consider these are Microgaming casinos, that becomes an even tastier prospect.
These games are available in both free play and real play modes, so there’s plenty of room for testing out new strategies or taking new slots games for a spin. With fast load times, high quality games, and some of the juiciest jackpots available, the games are where Virtual City really comes into its own.
There are many video slots available, including progressive slots, with feature titles like Thunderstruck and Tomb Raider available instantly. If you prefer table games, there are the usual suspects like roulette, blackjack and baccarat, all with multiple variants. Beyond that, there’s also a decent lineup of video poker and more specialist games.
The games are available in Flash versions in-browser, as well as in download mode. The lobby is super-responsive, and the games are quick to load and fast to render, which is impressive given the quality of the graphics.
Virtual City offers a no deposit bonus of $50 as a welcome to new players, in addition to their loyalty scheme and ongoing tournaments and promotions. This is tempered by a 60x playthrough requirement, which while seemingly high, is actually not too bad when you consider this is a no deposit offer. Beyond that, subsequent bonuses are subject to a 30x playthrough requirement, which is actually lower than you would expect on average. When you consider these terms can be spread over multiple deposits, it works out at what I would regard as an acceptable rate.
Again, not everyone will agree this is good value, and some would prefer a more comprehensive welcome bonus package - but for me, this is still a good bonus offer, particularly when you don’t need to deposit to take advantage of it.
Virtual City has online, download and mobile versions, each offering a similar experience to ensure the widest variety of device support. If you’re worried about compatibility with your phone or tablet, you’re in luck. You can access the games in your browser on any device, without the need to download an app.
The Flash games are widely regarded as fast loading and resource-light, so you’re in line for a great gaming experience across a range of different devices. Whether you’re on Android, iOS, or any other operating system, you should have no difficulty in loading the games or handling your account.
Sci-Fi casinos aren’t particularly common, but I appreciate the innovative twist here. Virtual City casino shouldn’t be judged on its graphics or its theme. Even if the whole sci-fi thing doesn’t tick the box for you, this is a great casino with so much more to offer.
The games are incredible, quick to load, and generous payers on the whole. Customer support and banking is decent, and when you factor in the no deposit bonus, there’s really no reason not to give it a try. I recommend Virtual City as a solid place to play - whether you’re playing on mobile or on desktop, I’m pretty sure you’ll agree.
