Did the Aztecs Bury Their Riches Here?
If you’ve been around online casinos long enough, you’ll no doubt have seen countless references to the Aztecs. It’s one of the more common recurring themes you’ll find at online casinos, probably because it conjures up such vivid images before you’ve even landed on these sites. Aztec Riches from the Casino Rewards Group is no different in style, but significantly improved in substance compared to the average.
This is a casino that is packed with some of the hottest Microgaming games, complete with progressives and jackpot games to keep the big money chasers happy. But it’s so much more than just another Microgaming casino, and there are several reasons I’ve returned to play here time after time.
Aztec Riches is of course a safe and legitimate place to play online. They hold several licenses, including from the Malta Gaming Authority, and are certified by industry body eCOGRA as safe and fair. Unfortunately for American players, this is a no-go area – the Maltese license restricts players from the States, as from some countries in continental Europe like France, Spain, Belgium and Italy from signing up for an account.
As an alternative, you can check out Bovada if you’re in the US, or Betway – I can personally recommend both.
One of the main things I hear people praising Aztec Riches for, aside from the huge selection of top-drawer games, is the deposit and withdrawal methods, plus the general ease of dealing with the casino. That’s down to their impressive, customer-focused approach, and it’s worth starting off our review looking at these user experience points in some more depth.
User experience is one of those things that makes the difference between an average casino, and a great place to deposit time after time. Look at it like this – any casino can buy its way into having good games on offer. But only those who do a really good job with their customer service approach can expect to last for the long haul. Well into their second decade, Aztec Riches are clearly doing something right.
Customer support has been responsive, helpful and friendly on each of the occasions I’ve had to get in touch. I usually do so through live chat support, and there’s usually someone on the other end to offer a response pretty quickly. There’s also the option of phone support, or email addresses you can contact if you want to send something more substantial.
In terms of deposits and withdrawals, Aztec Riches is better than most. There are plenty of options that support both deposit and withdrawals for maximum convenience, and I usually try to play with one of these payment methods when I stop by. You can choose from Bank Transfers, eCheck, ecoPayz, EntroPay, InstaDebit, Kalibra Card, Maestro, MasterCard, NETELLER, PayPal, Postepay, Visa, and Visa Electron.
There are other payment methods supported for deposit only, like Citadel Instant Banking, eps, Euteller, GiroPay, iDeal, iDebit, MB Multibanco, Neosurf, paysafecard, Poli, Przelewy24, Qiwi Wallet, Sofortuberweisung, Trustly, and Zimpler.
Similarly (and especially useful for bigger transactions), you can withdraw only through Bank Wire Transfer and Check (or cheque if you prefer), by Courier or By Mail depending on your preference.
Game Types & Selection
There are over 500 game titles at Aztec Riches, plenty enough to keep you busy, no matter how much you enjoy playing. This is a Microgaming casino, partnering up with the leading name in casino software to bring you literally the best games that exist for the online casino market. I’m talking about games like Thunderstruck II, and of course Mega Moolah – with its monster progressive jackpots. You don’t find games like that at any old casino…
If slots is your thing, there is also a range of pub-style fruit machines and AWP slots, not to mention the usual lineup of top Microgaming video slots. I do enjoy playing slots, but I’m probably on balance more likely to spend the majority of my time playing table games.
Aztec Riches is great for that too, with blackjack, roulette, baccarat and all the usual suspects. The difference here is in the number of variations, and there are probably more variations here than you could expect to find games in the entire catalogue of some smaller casinos.
For video poker fans, you’re also well catered to here – there are plenty of variants, including all your favourites like Jackpot Deuces and Jacks or Better, so you’re well covered when you play here.
Deposit bonuses are pretty strong, with the welcome bonus coming in at $850 over the first five deposits. There’s also a no deposit bonus, plus the loyalty programme, and regular tournaments if you’re interested in getting a little more competitive. With the deposit bonus, one sticking point is the playthrough requirement, at least as far as the initial deposit is concerned. This is set at 60x playthrough, eye-wateringly high in my view.
However, this high threshold is offset by a much lower threshold – 30x – on the remaining deposits that make up the welcome bonus. This is a much more acceptable rate, and helps make the bonus all the more worthwhile. I can understand why this is a source of frustration for some players, but when you consider everything else this casino has to offer, it’s not exactly a bad deal – just less of a good deal than you might like for your deposit bonus.
|First Deposit||50%||$ 50||30xb||–||Play now!|
|2nd Deposit Bonus||25%||$ 200||30xb||–||Play now!|
|3rd Deposit Bonus||20%||$ 600||30xb||–||Play now!|
One thing I love about Aztec Riches is that it’s easy to play on any device. You can obviously play on your desktop, either through the download casino or in-browser via their Flash games. But if you’re playing on mobile or on any tablet device, you’ve got the benefit of their mobile website, so often served as the default to users on any device.
This means you get a native mobile experience, regardless of the hardware or software you’re using. So there’s no need to worry about finding an app if you’re on a Windows phone, or installing anything on your Android device – you can simply head over to the Aztec Riches site, set up your account, and enjoy top quality games in browser from your phone or tablet.
I really like Aztec Riches. I’m a fan of pretty much everything the Casino Rewards Group does, and while there’s no doubt their bonus terms could be a little more generous, there’s so much more to it than that. The games are excellent, both in terms of quality and selection, and some of the jackpots on offer are enough to make even the hardiest jackpot-hunter blush. Banking and customer support are similarly effortless, and the whole experience is hard to fault. If you’re looking for a casino you can trust, with the right balance of games, jackpots and great service, I thoroughly recommend taking Aztec Riches for a spin.
