The online gambling watchdog group eCOGRA has recently launched a very aggressive anti-gambling addiction initiative that must be strictly enforced at all casinos that bear its seal.

Since they are pretty much the standard in watchdog groups, eCOGRA (e-commerce and Online Gaming, Regulation and Assurance) has taken this step to help people who become online gambling addicts, which is a horrible side effect of the recent online casino boom.

The 56 casinos that bear the eCOGRA seal had to send a representative to a stringent training session to outline what would be done. Amongst the new rules:

· A “Responsible Gaming” section urging those under 18 not to gamble.

· Self-diagnostic tests to see if you might have a gambling problem

· Taking cautionary steps to make sure advertising does not try to entice underage or problem gamblers

· Lessons about how to spot the betting patterns of addicted gamblers or those who might soon become one.

In addition, each casino must use the absolute newest ID technology to ensure against underage players.

Any of the sealed casinos that do not adhere to this risk losing their seal, which many savvy gamblers look for as a sign of an honest and fair casino.
