The global changes happen in Russia in the sphere of gambling, according to the law beginning on the 1t of July of 2009 all the casinos must leave the cities and be replaced to the special gaming zones. There will be four regions, where gambling will be absolutely legal. The chosen zones are situated in Far East, Altai region, Kaliningrad and Rostov region.

According to the plans of the government all slot machine halls and casinos should leave the big cities, because today there are about 30 casinos and 500 places where you can play slots only in Moscow.
The implementation date of the new law is the 1t of July, but the gambling zones haven’t been ready yet. In spite of this fact, the date of closing land casinos will not be shifted. Nowadays is not the best time for the growth and development, global crisis influences much on the gambling industry, that’s why businessmen aren’t eager to invest money in building and promotion of new territories.

The poker lovers are luckier in comparison with the slot players, because the law doesn’t touch ‘poker sports clubs’, probably some casinos will work as the private poker clubs. As the result of the new law functioning the number of online gamblers will rise, for instance gamers living in Moscow will not have the opportunity to visit casinos regularly, the nearest gambling zone is more than 1000 km from the capital. The Moscow streets changes rapidly, many casinos have already closed, the other part takes off the signboards.
