Jamie Gold Struck Gold
Finally it’s over. 8773 players put up the $10,000 entry fee to this year’s WSOP main event which created the biggest prize pool in the history of tournament poker. The tables were packed with poker players from all over the world, professionals, internet qualifiers and armatures with a dream of the 12 million dollar first prize.
The last player standing was Jamie Gold from Malibu California. He managed keep his chip-lead throughout the whole final table and when he finally was heads up against Paul Wasicka he had almost 7 to 1 chip-lead. With that chip advantage he just couldn’t fail to take home the biggest first prize ever.
In the last hand Jamie Gold raised to $1,700,000 and Paus Wasicka made the call. The flop came Q85. Wasicka bet out $1,500,000 and Jamie Gold pushed all his chips into the middle. Wasicka decided to call and flipped over a pair of tens. Gold turned over Q9 for top-pair, and when the river was a blank the tournament was over.
